2、oundmovementbyrisingintosurfacestreamslakes.Thesevastundergroundwaterdepositsprovidemuchneededmoisturefdryareasirrigateddistricts.Undergroundwateractsinsimilarwaystosurfacewateralsoperfminggeomphicwkasanagentofgradation.
3、Eventhoughmanhasbeenawareofsubsurfacewatersinceearliesttimesitsnatureoccurrencemovementgeomphicsignificancehaveremainedobscure.Recentlyhoweversomeanswershavebeenfoundtotheperplexingquestionsaboutundergroundwatersrelation

5、gequantitiesthewatermovingundergroundfromcoastalareas.Vitruviuswasthefirsttorecognizethatprecipitationprovidedthemainsourceofsubsurfacewateralthoughhisexplanationsofthemechanicsinvolvedwerenotveryscientific.Histheynowfir
