3、 in China, in order to comprehend the trends and relationships between energy consumption and economic growth, industrial structure and deepen cognition on relative questions. There are five chapters in this dissertation

4、. The first chapter is introduction. This paper summarizes scholars’ theoretical and empirical study achievements at home and aboard on the relationship of energy consumption, economic growth and industrial structure. Ch

5、apter two is about the description of energy consumption’s evolution and present situation which includes size, structure and comparisons with developed countries. Chapter three analyzes the relationship between energy c

6、onsumption and economic growth by Cobb-Douglas production function which contains labor, capital and energy. It calculates the energy consumption’s contribution to economic growth. Chapter four is about how the change in

7、 industrial structure explains energy consumption. We make use of the factor decomposition model to measure economic structure’s effect to energy consumption, and give the impulse response function. Chapter five is concl

8、usion. This part summarizes systemically the influence of economic growth and industrial structure on energy consumption, and formulates optimal policy according to the characteristic of energy consumption. Key words: en
