3、yed an essential part in language tests, and reading capability is one of the most important abilities of a language learner.Therefore, how to examine the testees’ reading abilities accurately and effectively in CET-4 an

4、d whether reading comprehension of CET-4 can well mirror the testees’ reading abilities have drawn much attention.
　　Based on the framework of task characteristics proposed by Bachman & Palmer (1999), aiming to check

5、out whether Reading Comprehension of CET-4 has met the requirements from its Testing Syllabus, this thesis generally studies the content validity of Reading Comprehension in CET-4 from December, 2006 to June, 2010 in ter

6、ms of the characteristics of the input and the characteristics of expected response in accordance with College English Testing Syllabus and Collage English Curriculum Requirements.

7、ing Comprehension of CET-4 virtually corresponds with what the Testing Syllabus and Curriculum Requirements have required and proves a sound content validity.However, it is also realized that the design of CET-4 reading
